OÄŸuz Kemal BaÅŸar was born in Istanbul. He studied for his bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture, landscape architecture, and cultural landscape at Milan Polytechnic University in Italy. Besides his architectural career, he worked on black-and-white analog photography and darkroom printing for more than ten years.
Seeing photography as a tool that highlights the cultural landscape and the stories of societies enabled him to set foot in different lands and countries. He believes that the most fascinating feature of analog photography is the journey from inserting the first roll to the final print in the enlarger. He took part in various ecological and cultural projects which focused on cultural landscapes in Alpine areas. While he continues his doctoral studies on "Protection of Mountain Areas and Ecology" at the Free University of Bolzano in Italy. He is a co-founder of the A30 architecture office in Istanbul.
