Footprints
Intercultural Daily Life Photography Exhibition
Showcasing the stories of people living in different cultures and geographies, 'Footprints' reflects a 7-year-old photographic work and also underlines the question we all know, 'Is geography our destiny?'
The exhibition also shows that we have more in common with the communities we live in than we have differences. The emergence of the concept of 'culture' as a result of communities living in cities and rural areas adapting to the environments they live in, and the balance we establish with nature in order to preserve our traditions and values, works harmoniously in some geographies, but can be a cause of war in some communities.
All the photos were taken with a 1971 model Canon-F1 camera. The fact that the photographs are black and white underlines both the photographs and the social contrasts we experience. Reflecting different anthropological perspectives, the study highlights many stories and cultural landscapes and opens the door to the daily lives of people in independent geographies.
"Whenever a person started to take root somewhere, he wanted to set off again and get away from where he was. So, did man actually want to discover new lands or himself?
